This course is designed for students who want to improve their reading and writing skills for college and career readiness. Focus is on responsive writing in the form of a well-structured paragraph.

ABSE 187 Preparation for College Reading & Composition

This course is designed for students who want to strengthen their responsive essay writing skills for college and career readiness. This course leads students through the writing process: planning, organizing, writing, evaluating, and revising essays, and includes incorporating and citing evidence from source materials.

College Writing Workshop

Offered only on Winter and Summer sessions
College Writing Workshop is offered during the Winter and Summer sessions.  It is a one-week intensive course for three hours each day.  Students learn more about reading and writing requirements in credit writing classes, including writing an essay and using citations properly.

This course is designed to strengthen basic arithmetic skills in students preparing to take Basic Algebra, Basic Statistics, or any course using basic arithmetic applications. The course focuses on using fractions, decimals, and percentages in all operations.

ABSE 121 Basic Algebra Review

This is an 8-week course starting on September 2nd

This course provides students with a review of reasoning and modeling algebraically. Areas presented in this class include integers, scientific notation, linear functions and equations, graphing, quadratic equations, and slope. Emphasis is placed on algebraic vocabulary and problem solving.
